Happy to be into Hay

Well it was a cold start from Mathoura…the oval was white and we could believe it was down around 0. We had some sunshine though, and were thankful for that. Pretty Pine for our first stop was very pleasant; here’s a little video of some of the morning tea action:

Second session, Lewis & Rod pushed Dave along pretty well and he was very happy to stop at Boorooban for lunch. The sunshine was gorgeous. Apparently, 70% of the sheep in Australia can trace their bloodline back to the Peppin stud nearby…impressive. It was very flat through the afternoon into Hay…seemed to be less trees than the Nullarbor. People continue to be generous and helpful; in Deniliquin we stopped briefly in a rest stop and a lady who works in the information centre came and took our photos to post them on the local Facebook page to spread the word. When we arrived in Hay, one of the guys we were chatting to at the footy club was so impressed he went home to get $100 and hand it over. We have given Graham the title of fundraiser, as he seems to be the one getting most of the donations. Dinner was really good; something needy people in Bendigo must really appreciate when they come into Life Essentials and seek help. The staff at MADCOW love to be able to help people and give them a meal whenever they can. Here’s a recap of the day from everybody:
