This one is brief, because by the time you see it you will also be able to see the final update. There’s no mobile service on the Qld/NSW border at Barringun, so we called and gave a verbal update from a payphone on the side of the ride 200 metres from the roadhouse. It was quite novel. If you are wondering, it is true that you can call mobiles for free from pay phones now :). Here’s a pic of the update happening:

An update with a difference

It was a pretty smooth day; we had a bit of breeze on our back and averaged over 30km/hr for the day. Our wildlife viewing has mostly been emus, goats, kangaroos and sheep on the way, but we came across a mad cow in the morning session today. It wanted to run along side the road with us, and gave us quite a chuckle. Here it is:

Jan, who runs the Bush Tucker Inn Roadhouse at Barringun (which is really all Barringun is) was a great host for us. The cabins had comfortable beds, the shower was very good, and the dinner at the roadhouse was nice too. We even got to hang a MADCOW hat up in the roadhouse, just to fly the flag:

One day to go…we are nearly there…keep the support coming for MADCOW.
